Nf3 g6 2.e4 Bg7 3.d4 c5
I did not show all the variations I studyed here because some interesting lines have to be kept secret. Here I show is the basic idea and plans when fighting against the stupid opening.
Typical Bennoni-like position. The most principle move is to play 4.d5. However the theoretical argument may not favour everybody. I hence studied the solid 4.c3! move, which is also popular.
4.c3! cxd4 5.cxd4 d5 6.e5
The centre pawn structure is pressuring black's kingside with no clear counterplay, which also makes black difficult to develop his pieces. The direct 6...f6 will weaken his kingside and thus face the punishment of 7.Nc3 fxe5 8.dxe5 e6 9.Nb5!
Normally black has three choices in this position:
A) 6...Nc6?!
B) 6...Bg4
C) 6...Nh6!?
A) 6...Nc6?!
7.Bb5! Bg4 8.Bxc6! bxc6
A semi-hanging pawn which can be attacked directly throught the half-open c-file forms. More weakensses will appear after
9.Nbd2 Nh6 10.O-O
10...f6 11.h3! Bf5 12.Nb3! (blocking the c5-square, typical plan to punish the semi-hanging pawn) Be4 13.Bxh6! Bxh6 (Clear possible defender of the pawn chain, and our queenside bishop does not have a good location.) 14.Nc5!
Though being a huge fan of bishop pair, I have to judge objectively that white has absolutely better location due to:
Weaknesses on c6 and e6
e-file which will soon be opened, which means that the king will be in danger
knight's beautiful spot on c5
10...O-O 11.Bxf3 Nxf3 12.f6 Re1! 13.fxe5 Bxh6 14.Bxh6 Rxe5! 15.Bf4 Re2
After like Qa4 and Rae1, it should be absolutely losing for black.
B) 6...Bg4
7.Bb5 Nd7 (Forcing, or 7...Nc6? 8.Bxc6 coming into similar position) 8.Nbd2 Nh6 9.O-O a6 10.Ba4 b5 11.Bc2 e6 12.h3 Bf5 13.g4!(expand on the kingside) Bxc2 14.Qxc2 Rc8?! 15.Qd3
Now
the weakness comes to the queenside
Impossible for black to further develop his pieces
Black is lack of space
Black's king should be in danger after Kg2-Rh1 and the kingside pawn pushing.
C)6...Nh6!?
7.Bb5! Bd7 8.Bxd7 Qxd7
The bishops ought to be changed to avoid black's potential plan of Bg4, which should be quite annoying
9.O-O O-O 10.Nc3 Nc6 11.Re1!
Still not so sure where to place the queenside bishop or simple take the h6 knight. We thus no need rush to develop it.
12.Nf5? g4! 13.Nh6 h3!
12.e6 Bg5! Dark square is dying.
I will not show the detail of my study but what I am doing is just acknowlege you the basic idea and plans when facing this kind of strage but wrong opening.
