“裁员”是今年各大科技公司的关键词之一。继社交巨头推特裁掉一半员工后,亚马逊、Meta、Lyft等各大公司也陆续宣布裁员。目前,科技巨头中仅剩谷歌和苹果尚未宣布裁员消息,但两者皆已宣布放缓或冻结招聘。今年以来,美国企业已裁员12万人,其中包括基层员工、工程师和技术人员。特别是10月份,美国企业的裁员人数达到9587人,创下近两年来的新高。

In three weeks, the tech industry lost tens of thousands of jobs.

There were big investments made during the pandemic time while the rest of the economy for example was plummeting by 3.4 percent.

But in a post-pandemic high inflation world, consumer behaviors and spending habits are changing, with the threat of recession on the horizon.
