Zhanjiang Mangrove National Nature Reserve in Guangdong, with a total area of 20,278.8 hectare, is China's largest mangrove nature reserve. It is distributed intermittently along 1,556 kilometers of coastline, forming a green ribbon.

广东湛江红树林国家级自然保护区是我国红树林面积最大的自然保护区，总面积20278.8公顷，其中红树林面积占全国的33％，沿1556公里海岸线间断性分布，形成了一条绿色丝带。

In 2021, by virtue of the strong carbon sequestration capacity of mangroves and their important role in ecosystem services such as the global carbon cycle, Zhanjiang developed and concluded China's first blue carbon trade, providing a demonstration of how the value of mangroves can be realized.

2021年，湛江利用红树林强大的固碳能力及其在全球碳循环等生态系统服务功能方面扮演的重要角色，开发并达成我国第一笔蓝碳交易，为红树林价值实现途径提供了示范。
